World Domination Enterprises were only around from 1984-1989. Their music incorporated "modern" rock, industrial music and dub, and they're probably best known for this poppy cover of the classic LL Cool J hit "I Can't Live Without My Radio".

Premier Rang - "Les Corps Humides"
premier rang - "les corps humides" (stream only)
You'll notice a few more "stream only" posts than usual lately. I've decided that whenever I'm posting something from a single that is available digitally for cheap, I'm going to provide it as stream only so if you like it, you can follow the link below and support the artist for 99 cents. That being said, here's another great track from the Italians Do It Better camp (affiliated with Bot'ox, who I posted last week). Sort of on some "downtempo disco" vibe. I love it.

Gang Gang Dance - "Princes" feat. Tinchy Stryder
From their amazing 2008 release "Saint Dymphna" (named after the patron saint of outsiders). "Princes" features 22 year old UK Grime MC Tinchy Stryder. This record is a fairly large departure from their earlier stuff. While their older stuff has tended to be more noisy and psychedelic, this record veered more towards beat-oriented stuff (similar to the progression that The Boredoms made over the years). It's alwasy great when a band can be heady and psychedelic, yet hard as fuck.

nick nicely - "Hilly Fields"
Released in 1982, nick nicely's "Hilly Fields" is considered one of the first non-hip hop songs to feature minimal record scratching. The song also took close to a year to complete. What really attracts me to this song is that the drum machine drums are hard for their time, the cello adds a lot to the song, and the sheer psychedelia of the song is really impressive. Apparantly, nick is working on a new record. There's a great collection of his songs that came out in 2004-2005 called Psychotropia that you should really check out.

Memory Cassette - "Bicycle"
I've had this song on repeat for a while now. It's on a sunny day, happy pop type vibe, and when the bassline comes in, I kind get chills. There's been sort of a rising cult following surrounding this guy, who also records as Weird Tapes and Memory Tapes. He has just recently come out of the shadows and announced to Pitchfork, "I'm just some dude in Southern New Jersey". He's also a 28-year-old stay at home dad who is not that great with computers. I'm looking forward to hearing more from this guy. You can buy a couple of his EP's really cheap below.

PANTyRAiD is Ooah of The Glitch Mob, and Marty Party. If you're a fan of either of their main projects, you'll love this. This single, featuring "Beba" and "Get the Money" is available for only $1.98 on iTunes. I'd highly recommend it.

Passage - "Down 4 Whatever"
When he's not fronting Restiform Bodies, or rapping his ass off with Brothers Backword, or dancing around like a schizophrenic monkey with tourettes in Bat Rays, David Bryant/Passage is putting out catchy as hell, synthy rap releases like "Pass Money Multi". This recently released digital EP is ONLY available direct through Passage, meaning if you follow the link below and click the "buy" button, Passage will email you the link himself to where you can download this gem. Bot'ox - "Drive By Shooting"
Some more great electronic music from France. It seems that France has this genre by the balls at this point. I've heard so much great music come out of all parts of France. I've yet to be disappointed. "Drive By Shooting" is a 6-minute track that just rides. Wait until around 1:30 for it to start getting good and synthy. These guys have released stuff on DFA, Marketing Records, and most frequently the label I'm A Cliche. They have a bunch of singles/eps for you to buy/stream on iTunes. Go check it out.

Timezone feat. John Lydon & Bill Laswell - "World Destruction"
"World Destruction" is considered by some to be the real first rap/rock song. Released in 1984, this predated Run DMC & Aerosmith's "Walk This Way" by two years. Time Zone was a brief project fronted by hip hop godfather Afrika Bambaataa. He would work with a different artist for each project. This song was arranged by Bill Laswell once he found out that Afrika and John Lydon (Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols) had a mutual admiration for each others' work. Not the most uplifting song, lyric-wise, but a great collaboration between all parties involved, and you can dance your ass off to it.

Le Feelings - "Day By Day"
I don't actually know a whole lot about these guys. I've exchanged messages with them here and there, and they sent me the split 7" with Makestapes that this is from, but as far as background goes, I don't have a lot on them. They're from Brooklyn, and make some really impressive, upbeat, melodic, drum-oriented stuff, a la Koushik (the only comparison I can think of). You can download a few mixes they've done over at their myspace page, and purchase a "beat tape" they did for Access Hip Hop recently here. If you'd like to purchase this 7", follow the link below.

Slim Thug & Bun B - "I Ain't Heard of That (Megasoid Remix)"
If you don't know by now, Megasoid is Sixtoo (Sebutones, Ninja Tune, etc) and Hadji Bakara (Wolf Parade). You will probably get whiplash listening to their mixtapes. This remix of Slim Thug & Bun B's "I Ain't Heard of That" is from their Tank Thong mixtape. Do yourself a favor and go check it out. You can grab their other mixes right here.

Bike For Three - "MC Space"
Somehow this song is a futuristic AND a throwback electro hip hop song. Leave it to Buck65 to pull something like that off. Bike For Three is Buck65 and Greetings From Tuskan. A transatlantic collaboration between two people who (I believe) have still never met in person. Their debut LP More Heart Than Brains is out now on Anticon

Shayne Keator - "Bird With Firehorns"
Shayne Keator is one of my favorite Bay Area musicians. His music is really moody, dark, and beautiful. So great that I chose him as the opening track on the Sneakmove Minicomp that I curated. His new album, Gentlemagenta is out now on Bay Area lo-fi label Lakebed Recordings (new home to Joseph Bryce/Clovis Heald, Roberto Miguel and RXCXXNS). You can buy it here. You really should.

MRR-ADM - "'002"
From the EXTREMELY rare, and highly sought after MRR-ADM 10" EP. Featuring the very talented Malcolm Catto playing some heavy, heavy drums. A must for any beat-head. MRR-ADM stands for Michael Raymond Russell & Adam Douglas Manella (the San Diego production duo previously known as MHE).

Paul White - "Time Wars" / Bullion - "God Only Knows"
Two great artists on the One Handed Music label. Bullion seems to be best known for his Beach Boys/J Dilla "mashup" EP Pet Sounds: In the Key of Dee, which the above track "God Only Knows" is from. Paul White (pictured) has a new record out called The Strange Dreams of Paul White. The new record contains 21 short tracks, lots of them heavily inspired by Dilla as well. It's a great head nod-inducing record that's perfect for headphones. If these guys are any sign of things to come on the One Handed Music label, I'm going to definitely keep an eye on them.
