To celebrate this milestone, I was going to wait until next week to announce that I'm no longer going to put up with Blogger's bullshit, and I'm jumping the gun (my inevitable shutdown) by moving to self-hosting. Unfortunately, I just got yet ANOTHER unnecessary takedown notice from Blogger today, so I'm going to go ahead and let you all know now that The Bomarr Blog will now be located at <a href="http://blog.bomarr.net">blog.bomarr.net</a> .<br /><br />Blogger has been on a rampage as of late, shutting down many great mp3 blogs that are just trying to help promote up-and-coming artists and/or get the word out about music they like. Often times, like myself, offering up links to where the full albums can be purchased. A good portion of the time, they remove content that the blogger actually had PERMISSION to post. I'd understand if I was posting Beatles discographies and things of that nature, but I'm not. I've also done nothing but cooperate with them when things have been taken down, but they still send repeat notices even after I've removed the offending content. When they issue a takedown, they set your post back to "draft" status, which allows you to edit it and re-publish. They clearly say "<span id=":2pp"><span style="font-style: italic;">You may re-publish the posts with the offending content and/or link(s) removed.</span>" A while back, they did this for a Yeasayer track I posted, and I removed it immediately. Two weeks later, I got a notice for the same post, even though the link to the "infringing" mp3 was already long gone. This counted as 2 strikes against me. They just did the same thing today for a Tobacco remix of a Health song that I posted last week. On top of that, they even removed a post of a Bassnectar mp3 that I got FROM THE ARTIST. After speaking with Bassnectar, he confirmed that neither he, nor his label or management had anything to do with it.<br /><br />So, to sum up my rant....Blogger wins. I'm moving. I can't put up with your bullshit anymore and you make it too difficult to contest things, even when you're wrong, so I bid you farewell.<br /><br />Posting will not be interrupted at all. Everything stays the same aside from the web address. So please, update your bookmarks, find me on <a href="http://www.twitter.com/bomarrblog">Twitter<span style="text-decoration: underline;"></span></a> , and come visit me at <a href="http://blog.bomarr.net/">my new home</a><br /><br />-Bomarr<br /></span>bomarrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15670867222421921393noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6484013040629131898.post-68560880296897119382010-04-07T10:00:00.000-07:002010-04-07T10:34:24.426-07:00The Consulate General - "Half-Day Honeymoon"<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcB96zPAIWHF6mZ32rTwRRX376OOS1w7iLbmVRpFScd0_Hcz5w4ZuuYWZx_WfJRsWi4pEko9N4mlKnEE_ij0X9DwEMN8SYHbRatzfAblsxfCFajIFARhU40A8SqLxNxvddAszjmMA7TIw/s1600/consulate.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 250px; height: 250px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcB96zPAIWHF6mZ32rTwRRX376OOS1w7iLbmVRpFScd0_Hcz5w4ZuuYWZx_WfJRsWi4pEko9N4mlKnEE_ij0X9DwEMN8SYHbRatzfAblsxfCFajIFARhU40A8SqLxNxvddAszjmMA7TIw/s320/consulate.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5457166153236233730" /></a><br /><div><b><a href="http://www.divshare.com/direct/10989703-749.mp3">the consulate general - "half-day honeymoon" (download)</a></b></div><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" width="335" height="28" id="divplaylist"><param name="movie" value="http://www.divshare.com/flash/playlist?myId=10989703-749"><embed src="http://www.divshare.com/flash/playlist?myId=10989703-749" width="335" height="28" name="divplaylist" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></embed></object><div><b>Alexander Chen</b> is mostly known for his <b>Boy In Static</b> project, which led him to release music on <b>Markus Acher</b> (The Notwist)'s <b>Alien Transistor</b> label as well as tour around the US opening for <b>13 & God</b>. Not that this is anything new, mind you, but these past few years have seen a slew of great music coming out of this particular country. Obviously the likes of <b>Justice</b> and <b>Daft Punk</b> come to mind, but then you have people like <b>Mr. Oizo</b>, <b>Sebastian Tellier</b>, <b>Debmaster</b>, <b>Ego Twister Records</b>, <b>Kavinsky</b>.....basically, too many to name. Fitting in with all this stuff is <b>Acid Washed</b>, a duo from Paris whose influences range from <b>Steve Reich</b> to <b>Giorgio Moroder</b>, <b>DFA Records</b> to Detroit Techno. All the songs on his <a href="http://www.myspace.com/blankspacemusic">MySpace page</a> and <a href="http://soundcloud.com/blank-spaces">Soundcloud page</a> are great. I just don't have the time to listen to hour-long house music or acid jazz dj mixes, so when I saw this submission show up in my email, I ALMOST disregarded it. That is, until I saw that this mix included funk covers of <b>Gary Numan</b>, <b>Mr. Oizo</b>, <b>Radiohead</b> and more. I gave it a shot, and I'm glad I did. These covers are actually really great, drum heavy covers of some already great songs. "<i>Man Without Limits</i>" appeared on last years collection of hard to find <b>Lisfrank </b>tracks called <i>Mask Rewind</i>, an extremely limited vinyl release that came with a limited white vinyl 7". It originally appeared on the highly sought after <b>Mask Productions</b> compilation <i>First Relation</i> back in 1983. If you can track this down, be sure to pick it up. </div><div><i><a href="http://www.myspace.com/lisfrank">myspace</a></i></div>bomarrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15670867222421921393noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6484013040629131898.post-6767006927927632882010-03-02T10:07:00.001-08:002010-03-02T10:20:26.036-08:00Mochipet - "Anticon On Atari (Restiform Bodies Remix)"<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhM9M93_Yd2fVZXxJSaD951DiN-gHRp5B3pimXPtzvT_1znuM9e3Ui4JEd6WR2qcmYjVsY8klFpxGe8wxrJe4oFlIBHAEe4w8Z8NKLfwmD5Y0zd4J3wffo6sYzyX1-j9Y1LVil5BMUVenE/s1600-h/oie_Master-P-Transformed1.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 250px; height: 250px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhM9M93_Yd2fVZXxJSaD951DiN-gHRp5B3pimXPtzvT_1znuM9e3Ui4JEd6WR2qcmYjVsY8klFpxGe8wxrJe4oFlIBHAEe4w8Z8NKLfwmD5Y0zd4J3wffo6sYzyX1-j9Y1LVil5BMUVenE/s320/oie_Master-P-Transformed1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5444099890609901282" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://www.divshare.com/direct/10630506-c05.mp3"><span style="font-weight: bold;">mochipet - "anticon on atari (restiform bodies remix)"</span></a><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" id="divplaylist" height="28" width="335"><param name="movie" value="http://www.divshare.com/flash/playlist?myId=10630506-c05"><embed src="http://www.divshare.com/flash/playlist?myId=10630506-c05" name="divplaylist" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" height="28" width="335"></embed></object><br /><div>A little treat for you from <b>Mochipet</b>'s <i>Master P On Atari Transformed Volume 1</i>, the first volume in a couple of remix companions to last years <i>Master P On Atari</i>.
