the metronomes - "a circuit like me" (download)
Great little minimal synth song from Australia's The Metronomes. These guys were mostly active in the 80's, releasing a few singles and albums on the goth-heavy label Cleopatra Records. I used to be really into a lot of the stuff on that label, so I'm amazed that I didn't hear about The Metronomes until recently. These guys are very different than most of the other bands on the label. Really great stuff.

Fantastic track. Reminds me of http://www.myspace.com/blankspacemusic
Check out the track: The Great Shark Hunt.
But back to the Metronomes, I really like their website, the history of each track/release is fascinating.
well, you've turned me onto blank spaces now. any idea where i can find their music? i listened on myspace and i like it. i like "the great shark hunt," but i want to post "only dead fish." any leads?
That's an interesting question. I also was looking for some of the music but I can't seem to find any of it.
By the looks of it, it seems that this is just one guy making music because he wants to. Based on the plays off the site, I would say that he's just saving them all for an eventual release.
I would try getting in contact with him if I were you, for a specific track.
thanks. yeah, i emailed him earlier today. thanks for the tip! nice blog you have as well
Alright! Good to see someone put this song back up to download.
This track is The Metronomes's best and sounds different than their other stuff (old and new).

back up? did someone have it up somewhere and take it down? the reason i ask is because if the band requested that it be taken down, they'll probably request it here too, and i'd like to avoid that.
