Tobacco - "Sweatmother"

Brand new track from Tobacco's upcoming Maniac Meat record, which Anticon will release on May 25th. The record features a slew of fuzzed out analog beats, including featuring Beck. If you like his previous work, you'll definitely love this. This also already has my vote for best album cover of the year.

Friday Night - "P.S.R. (Greetings From Tuskan Remix)"

Friday Night is Anticon's Serengeti, alongside rapper Hi Fidel & production duo Breakfast Kings. They just released a free remix record companion to their self-titled Friday Night release. This little gem of a remix comes to us via Belgian producer Greetings From Tuskan (best known as of late for being half of Bike For Three with Buck65). The remix record also features remixes from Omid, Euphony, Tony Trimm and about 15 others. Grab the remix record here, and buy the self-titled album here.

Madness2012 - "Hang the Way"

Meet Madness2012 (known to his friends as Justin Delaet). Master beatboxer, prolific MC, and all-around great guy. He's been doing this rap thing for many years now. Back in the day, he appeared on one side of a split cassette single that I put out with some friends. The song was called "Bullshit," and on the flipside was Telephone Jim Jesus's first ever recorded vocal appearance on a song called "Tapeworm." Madness2012 has also recorded songs with Passage (Anticon/Restiform Bodies). He's been putting out records steadily now for a while. His most recent being the Hot Sauce EP, which you can grab right here. "Hang the Way" is from his record The Perfect Words For Saying Nothing. Check him out.

Duchess Says - "Black Flag"

duchess says - "black flag" (stream-only)
I wasn't familiar with Montreal's Duchess Says until recently. I heard this song for the first time on Tobacco's (Anticon/Black Moth Super Rainbow) Halloween podcast Orgy Drills 1. This whole record is pretty great. All over the place moog-punk, sometimes melodic, sometimes abrasive. They have a great cover of the Six Finger Satellite song I posted a little while ago ("Rabies (Baby's Got The)"). Great stuff. Check it out.

Restiform Bodies - "Black Friday"

A fitting day to post this. Check out "Black Friday" from my group Restiform Bodies. Happy post-turkey day. I'm sure you all have a food hangover like me.

A Grape Dope - "Hellz Bellz"

a grape dope - "hellz bellz" (download)
A Grape Dope is the mostly-instrumental, beat-oriented project of Tortoise drummer John Herndon. This lost gem from boasts some pretty impressive, and somewhat out-there instrumentation. It also features guest vocals on "Red Hat Attack" by Anticon's Doseone. John also did a remix as A Grape Dope for the Themselves remix record The No Music of AIFFs. This song is great, although it really starts to pick up around the 1:30 mark.

Amp Live - "Gary Is A Robot"

Great new single from Zion I's Amp Live. Amp Live has been getting quite a bit of attention as of late for his Rainydayz Remixes EP (where he used all Radiohead source material from In Rainbows for the beats and got local favorites Del Tha Funkee Homosapien and Too Short to rap over them), as well as a recent remix for Anticon's WHY?. Even Akon & MGMT have approached him for remixes. Be on the lookout for his upcoming record Murder At the Discoteck, coming out on Child's Play in 2010. (Check out the awesome video for "Gary Is A Robot" right here)

EGADZ! - "Glock Out"

For his final album as EGADZ!, Egadz Is Dead, Erik Nava puts the nail in the coffin with intensity. "Glock Out", one of the standout tracks on the record, hits you in the face with driving beats and a nasty distorted bassline. EGADZ! has recently relocated from the Bay Area to Denver, CO and has decided to shed his old persona for his new one, NAVA. Expect great things from this man in the future. Egadz is Dead is out TODAY. Grab it below.

Dark Dark Dark - Junk Bones (Odd Nosdam Remix)

Odd Nosdam takes on "Junk Bones", from Minnesota-based Dark Dark Dark. This excellent remix is from the upcoming Dark Dark Dark Remixes 7" on Supply & Demand Music. Passage - "Down 4 Whatever"

When he's not fronting Restiform Bodies, or rapping his ass off with Brothers Backword, or dancing around like a schizophrenic monkey with tourettes in Bat Rays, David Bryant/Passage is putting out catchy as hell, synthy rap releases like "Pass Money Multi". This recently released digital EP is ONLY available direct through Passage, meaning if you follow the link below and click the "buy" button, Passage will email you the link himself to where you can download this gem. There are so many great tracks on this release, you really should just go ahead and give it a try. You'll be helping an artist directly, and you'll be really making your ear-holes happy.

Slim Thug & Bun B - "I Ain't Heard of That (Megasoid Remix)"

If you don't know by now, Megasoid is Sixtoo (Sebutones, Ninja Tune, etc) and Hadji Bakara (Wolf Parade). You will probably get whiplash listening to their mixtapes. This remix of Slim Thug & Bun B's "I Ain't Heard of That" is from their Tank Thong mixtape. Do yourself a favor and go check it out. You can grab their other mixes right here.

Bike For Three - "MC Space"

Somehow this song is a futuristic AND a throwback electro hip hop song. Leave it to Buck65 to pull something like that off. Bike For Three is Buck65 and Greetings From Tuskan. A transatlantic collaboration between two people who (I believe) have still never met in person. Their debut LP More Heart Than Brains is out now on Anticon

Pedestrian - "O Hallelujah" (Bomarr Re-do)

A new take on Pedestrian's "Oh Hosanna" from his unIndian Songs Vol. 1 release. Most of the vocals were re-written and re-recorded, and the music is completely different than the original album version. All music (guitars, drums, loops, samples) courtesy of yours truly, except for a brief accordion appearance from Matt Harrison. This is a re-do/remix/revamp in 9 parts.

Lil' Mama - "Lip Gloss (Bomarr Remix)"

Here's a little remix I whipped up a couple years back of Lil' Mama's "Lip Gloss". Enjoy.

Edmond LePrince - "Tout"

Edmond Leprince runs a really great electronic music label in France called Ego Twister. He's put out a couple of great compilations called Party Ruiners (with very impressive packaging, I might add). And even though he looks like he'll punch you in the teeth in the above picture, he's a really nice guy. He did a really great remix of our Restiform Bodies track "Panic Shopper", which should be seeing the light of day soon. Keep an eye on this label. They haven't put out a lot of stuff, but everything that's out there is great. I'm highly anticipating more releases from Ego Twister in 2010.

New Telephone Jim Jesus Track!!!!

BOMARR BLOG EXCLUSIVE!
Telephone Jim Jesus has been kind enough to give me this brand new track (co-produced by Bud Behrning of Furious Stylz/Skyrider). All I can say is this track is SLAMMING. I can't get enough of it. This is really making me anxious for some new TJJ/Furious Stylz material. There's a new Telephone Jim Jesus record and a new Furious Stylz record in the works (for those who don't know, Furious Stylz is Jim Jesus + Bud & John of Skyrider). They have a free EP that you can download to hold you over right here.

The Bran Flakes - "The Girl That I Used To Be (feat. Bomarr)"

From their website:
"Formed in 1992 amidst tape and zine trading scenes, The Bran Flakes already have seven releases of zany mashups and poppy audio collages that are more likely to cop a riff from Evel Knievel than anything on the current radio dial. Six years since their last release, they return with the absurdly entertaining I Have Hands."

I Have Hands is their sixth release, and their first on Illegal Art (home to Girl Talk and Steinski). This track features yours truly on the drums. I recorded live drum breaks in the studio, sent them to my friend (Bran Flake Otis Fodder), and he promptly chopped and reprogrammed the hell out of them. The Bran Flakes are offering a "name your own price" download over at the Illegal Art Webstore. This record is too good to pass up, at any price. Go check it out.
