Detachments - "Flowers That Fell (Mirror People's 're-make re-model' version)"

Yet another artist who has been blowing my mind lately is Mirror People, another project from Portugal's Rui Maia. He got my attention with his really impressive remix of Neon Indian's "Mind,Drips," so I did some research and stumbled on this Kraftwerk-y remix he did for UK band Detachments. Rui counts New Order, Add n to (x), Giorgio Moroder and Suicide as some of his favorites, so how could you NOT like this? He has a bunch of stuff for you to check out over at his Soundcloud page, all of it is really impressive. He also has more music and videos over on his MySpace page.

EGADZ! - "Glock Out"

For his final album as EGADZ!, Egadz Is Dead, Erik Nava puts the nail in the coffin with intensity. "Glock Out", one of the standout tracks on the record, hits you in the face with driving beats and a nasty distorted bassline. EGADZ! has recently relocated from the Bay Area to Denver, CO and has decided to shed his old persona for his new one, NAVA. Expect great things from this man in the future. Egadz is Dead is out TODAY. Grab it below.

Books On Tape - "Circus Animal Battle Rap"

From his 2003 release Books On Tape Sings The Blues. Southern California's Todd Drootin never fails when it comes to getting people to dance their asses off to his crazy style of jittery electronic dancey, punky jams. It's always interesting to watch him perform live, where he bounces around behind his setup, and enthusiastically punches his equipment, dropping effects in and out with true passion.

Michna - "Swiss Glide"

from his bio:

Currently based in Brooklyn NY, Adrian Michna (aka DJ Egg Foo Young) has become a staple in the NYC club scene, known for his chameleon like abilities. Outside of the club, he has been able to pursue a few hobbies such as building furniture, bicycles, photography, skeeball, and gloss lustre collages. While working on his solo album, he also found time to remix the mysterious Jandek (the only artist ever to do so) and produce on Brazilian group Bonde Do Role’s debut LP for Domino/Mad Decent.

It seems Adrian has found his stride as a solo artist, bringing together his myriad influences into a succinct sonic personage. His debut LP “Magic Monday” and the elevating single “Triple Chrome Dipped” are works of distinction and taste, getting asses on the floor in style.
