A little treat for you from Mochipet's Master P On Atari Transformed Volume 1, the first volume in a couple of remix companions to last years Master P On Atari. Not only does this record have remixes from my "group" Restiform Bodies, you also have remixes from Deceptikon (whose remix of Copy's "Assassinator" was posted on the Bomarr Bloga while back), Matt B, ill.gates, Kraddy and more. Volume 2 is coming out soon on Mochipet's Daly City Records.
Portland, Oregon's Cars & Trains (Tom Filepp) has been a very busy man as of late. He spent a good chunk of last month touring with Ceschi & Bleubird to start getting the word out about his upcoming record The Roots, The Leaves (for Ceschi's Fake Four label)and its sister album of remixes, appropriately titled The Roots, The Remix. The Roots, The Remix includes remixes from Boy In Static, Melodium, Dollboy, MeanestManContest, BlueSkyBlack Death, BigPauper/PZ, OtemRelik, UnconventionalScience, USF, Lullatone, Polyphonic, Bomarr (that's me), and ErnestGonzales. FakeFour is handling the physical & electronic formats for the album, and CircleIntoSquare will be releasing the digital-only remix album. In addition to all this stuff (see, I said he's a busy guy), he has a limited edition 7" coming out on TokenRecluse featuring UnconventionalScience and Pauper/PZ's remixes. You really should grab all of these things. The record and remix album will be available on 1/26/10.
I did Volume 3 back in 2007, and said that it would be my last Xmas mix in the series, but after getting inspired, and actually finding an impressive chunk of Xmas-themed music this year, I've decided to do another...maybe even another after this! Who knows? Even if you're not a fan of Xmas music, you may still enjoy this. I'm not a fan of Xmas music in general, but more of a fan of digging up some of these really obscure tracks. It's sort of rewarding, and people seem to really enjoy these mixes. So, spike your egg nog, decorate your tree, and throw this mix on, you may enjoy it. As always, comments are welcome. You can download ALL volumes here
(Please let me know if you have any issues with the Divshare link. I re-uploaded it this morning after having issues with the first link, but everything should be working now)
A fitting day to post this. Check out "Black Friday" from my group Restiform Bodies. Happy post-turkey day. I'm sure you all have a food hangover like me.
Here's a brand new remix that I did for the new Bleubird mixtape Street Talk III. You can download the whole mixtape for FREE right here. Clean yo plate.......
Gold Robot Records (who have released 7"s from Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Panther, Meanest Man Contest, and more), will be releasing this Designed Entropy 1 7" on September 22. The limited edition 7" includes exclusive, brand new tracks from myself, Copy (Audio Dregs), Meanest Man Contest, and Roman Ruins). All copies of this colored vinyl 7" come with a free download card for the release as well. Definitely do yourself a favor and head over here to pre-order your copy before they're all gone. There's also a link to where you can preview the tracks. Enjoy!
When he's not fronting Restiform Bodies, or rapping his ass off with Brothers Backword, or dancing around like a schizophrenic monkey with tourettes in Bat Rays, David Bryant/Passage is putting out catchy as hell, synthy rap releases like "Pass Money Multi". This recently released digital EP is ONLY available direct through Passage, meaning if you follow the link below and click the "buy" button, Passage will email you the link himself to where you can download this gem. There are so many great tracks on this release, you really should just go ahead and give it a try. You'll be helping an artist directly, and you'll be really making your ear-holes happy.
A new take on Pedestrian's "Oh Hosanna" from his unIndian Songs Vol. 1 release. Most of the vocals were re-written and re-recorded, and the music is completely different than the original album version. All music (guitars, drums, loops, samples) courtesy of yours truly, except for a brief accordion appearance from Matt Harrison. This is a re-do/remix/revamp in 9 parts.
Superargo is Adam Jeffers. Adam Jeffers is from Lawrence, KS. He makes mostly upbeat, mostly 8-bit sounding electronic music that you can dance to. He is also known to put on a great live show, although recent changes have forced him to not play shows for a while while he works on his new record, and fine tunes a new live performance. I'm REALLY looking forward to his new record, whenever that may be. He was nice enough to contribute a track to the Sneakmove Minicomp Vol. 3 that I curated, and he also contributed a remix of my track "Happy Slapping" (see above) for my free Scrapsrelease. The song "Miniperformer" can be found on his self-titled album from around 2003. I'm not sure where you can find his first record these days. Maybe he should put it online as a free download (hint, hint).
"Formed in 1992 amidst tape and zine trading scenes, The Bran Flakes already have seven releases of zany mashups and poppy audio collages that are more likely to cop a riff from Evel Knievel than anything on the current radio dial. Six years since their last release, they return with the absurdly entertaining I Have Hands."
I Have Hands is their sixth release, and their first on Illegal Art (home to Girl Talk and Steinski). This track features yours truly on the drums. I recorded live drum breaks in the studio, sent them to my friend (Bran Flake Otis Fodder), and he promptly chopped and reprogrammed the hell out of them. The Bran Flakes are offering a "name your own price" download over at the Illegal Art Webstore. This record is too good to pass up, at any price. Go check it out.
Shameless self-promotion time. Figured I'd try to get the word out about this. This split between myself and Clovis Heald was supposed to come out as a part of Anticon's 7" vinyl series. It has since been shelved, so I've decided to make it available for purchase (only $2.00 for the 2 tracks). My song, "Badload" can be found in a video I did with filmmaker Emily Marchandhere. Clovis Heald's song, "Lawnchair", can be found in a video I created for him here. You can stream or purchase both tracks here. I hope you like them. They're old, but people seem to enjoy them, and I wanted to give them some sort of a proper release, instead of having them collect digital dust on my hard drive forever. I'd love some feedback, and I'd love it if you can somehow help us out and support "the artists" if you enjoy what you hear. Normal posts will resume tomorrow. Thanks again to everyone who's paying attention.
