Mochipet - "Anticon On Atari (Restiform Bodies Remix)"

mochipet - "anticon on atari (restiform bodies remix)"
A little treat for you from Mochipet's Master P On Atari Transformed Volume 1, the first volume in a couple of remix companions to last years Master P On Atari. Not only does this record have remixes from my "group" Restiform Bodies, you also have remixes from Deceptikon (whose remix of Copy's "Assassinator" was posted on the Bomarr Blog a while back), Matt B, ill.gates, Kraddy and more. Volume 2 is coming out soon on Mochipet's Daly City Records.

Madness2012 - "Hang the Way"

Meet Madness2012 (known to his friends as Justin Delaet). Master beatboxer, prolific MC, and all-around great guy. He's been doing this rap thing for many years now. Back in the day, he appeared on one side of a split cassette single that I put out with some friends. The song was called "Bullshit," and on the flipside was Telephone Jim Jesus's first ever recorded vocal appearance on a song called "Tapeworm." Madness2012 has also recorded songs with Passage (Anticon/Restiform Bodies). He's been putting out records steadily now for a while. His most recent being the Hot Sauce EP, which you can grab right here. "Hang the Way" is from his record The Perfect Words For Saying Nothing. Check him out.

Wild Xmas With Bomarr, Vol. 4

I did Volume 3 back in 2007, and said that it would be my last Xmas mix in the series, but after getting inspired, and actually finding an impressive chunk of Xmas-themed music this year, I've decided to do another...maybe even another after this! Who knows? Even if you're not a fan of Xmas music, you may still enjoy this. I'm not a fan of Xmas music in general, but more of a fan of digging up some of these really obscure tracks. It's sort of rewarding, and people seem to really enjoy these mixes. So, spike your egg nog, decorate your tree, and throw this mix on, you may enjoy it. As always, comments are welcome. You can download ALL volumes here

(Please let me know if you have any issues with the Divshare link. I re-uploaded it this morning after having issues with the first link, but everything should be working now)

Passage - "Down 4 Whatever"

When he's not fronting Restiform Bodies, or rapping his ass off with Brothers Backword, or dancing around like a schizophrenic monkey with tourettes in Bat Rays, David Bryant/Passage is putting out catchy as hell, synthy rap releases like "Pass Money Multi". This recently released digital EP is ONLY available direct through Passage, meaning if you follow the link below and click the "buy" button, Passage will email you the link himself to where you can download this gem. There are so many great tracks on this release, you really should just go ahead and give it a try. You'll be helping an artist directly, and you'll be really making your ear-holes happy.

Pedestrian - "O Hallelujah" (Bomarr Re-do)

A new take on Pedestrian's "Oh Hosanna" from his unIndian Songs Vol. 1 release. Most of the vocals were re-written and re-recorded, and the music is completely different than the original album version. All music (guitars, drums, loops, samples) courtesy of yours truly, except for a brief accordion appearance from Matt Harrison. This is a re-do/remix/revamp in 9 parts.

Lil' Mama - "Lip Gloss (Bomarr Remix)"

Here's a little remix I whipped up a couple years back of Lil' Mama's "Lip Gloss". Enjoy.

Edmond LePrince - "Tout"

Edmond Leprince runs a really great electronic music label in France called Ego Twister. He's put out a couple of great compilations called Party Ruiners (with very impressive packaging, I might add). And even though he looks like he'll punch you in the teeth in the above picture, he's a really nice guy. He did a really great remix of our Restiform Bodies track "Panic Shopper", which should be seeing the light of day soon. Keep an eye on this label. They haven't put out a lot of stuff, but everything that's out there is great. I'm highly anticipating more releases from Ego Twister in 2010.

New Telephone Jim Jesus Track!!!!

BOMARR BLOG EXCLUSIVE!
Telephone Jim Jesus has been kind enough to give me this brand new track (co-produced by Bud Behrning of Furious Stylz/Skyrider). All I can say is this track is SLAMMING. I can't get enough of it. This is really making me anxious for some new TJJ/Furious Stylz material. There's a new Telephone Jim Jesus record and a new Furious Stylz record in the works (for those who don't know, Furious Stylz is Jim Jesus + Bud & John of Skyrider). They have a free EP that you can download to hold you over right here.

The Bran Flakes - "The Girl That I Used To Be (feat. Bomarr)"

From their website:
"Formed in 1992 amidst tape and zine trading scenes, The Bran Flakes already have seven releases of zany mashups and poppy audio collages that are more likely to cop a riff from Evel Knievel than anything on the current radio dial. Six years since their last release, they return with the absurdly entertaining I Have Hands."

I Have Hands is their sixth release, and their first on Illegal Art (home to Girl Talk and Steinski). This track features yours truly on the drums. I recorded live drum breaks in the studio, sent them to my friend (Bran Flake Otis Fodder), and he promptly chopped and reprogrammed the hell out of them. The Bran Flakes are offering a "name your own price" download over at the Illegal Art Webstore. This record is too good to pass up, at any price. Go check it out.

Brothers Backword - "The Making of a Stupid Intelligent Mixtape Vol. 1"

The Brothers Backword "Stupid Intelligent Mixtape" is by far one of my favorite things to listen to lately, and it will no doubt get TONS of play from me this summer. The boys have put together this really well done video which documents the making of this amazing eardrum-pleaser of a mixtape. Be on the lookout for the Stupid Intelligent EP dropping this summer, and do yourself a favor...if you haven't already, GO DOWNLOAD THE FREE MIXTAPE !!!!!!

Broken Spindles - "Monster At the Market" (featuring Passage)

Another Bomarr Blog premiere. Joel Petersen of The Faint has just released an addendum to his most recent solo release as Broken Spindles, titled Kiss/Kick Addendum. In addition to this amazing track (which I've wanted to share with EVERYONE for quite some time), it has exclusive remixes by my group Restiform Bodies, Cassettes Won't Listen, Afghan Raiders, and Small Sins. As well as a great cover of the classic Jawbox track "Savory" (one of my favorites from high school). As of right now, it is only available exclusively through The Faint's webstore. You get 11 high quality MP3's for only 7 bucks. It's amazing deal considering the quality of the content on this release.

Debmaster - "BasStar"

One of my favorite producers right now. Hailing from Picardie in the North of France. Humerous and hard-hitting beats. Great in headphones. He's affiliated with Briefcase Rockers, Ego Twister and Hip Notik Records. You'll be seeing lots more artists from those labels here soon. Also, be on the lookout for a collaboration between Debmaster and Passage of Restiform Bodies. Check out his free download "Crev Sessions V.1" here

Brothers Backword - "Stupid Intelligent" Mixtape

photo courtesy of Mae Michael Photo

(from their bio)
Brothers Backword will do for the Beastie Boys what the Bourne Ultimatum did for James Bond. Unpretentiously, Brothers Backword are a 21st century update on the classic components of Hip Hop and dance music that made them so lovable in the first place. David Bryant or PASSAGE (Restiform Bodies, Anticon) and Mike Busse (Chronic Future, Modern Art Records partner) rap and sing in legible, irresistible flows. Topical tracks like Special Education, essentially a rapped three minute rendering of the film Notes on a Scandal, wind away from convention far enough to refresh themselves, but swing swiftly back to Earth with syrupy hooks, damaged yet effective verses and downright provocative bridges. Brothers Backword coo and holler like hood rats, with none of the outsider politics or hang ups so common to indie rap. Dave and Mike are the classic "big guy, little guy" combo. Standing 5'7 and 5'11 Brothers Backword set the stage for impressive, tempo melting performances, and their vocal abilities flex to demonstrate the audio equivalent in their recordings.

The "Stupid Intelligent" mix-tape proves the perfect hunting ground for Passage and Busse. They interact with, infect and invade every track, from Mr. Oizo to Talking Heads to Nas. Fearless of studio magic, they add talk box back ups to Shannon and manipulate hooks from beyond your memory. Suitably aggressive and comedic lyrics, weave in and around chopped, meticulously syncopated Christian Bale sound bites. With an EP due out late this summer, Brothers Backword's "Stupid Intelligent" mix tape is a glimpse of what's to come, but in this future I don't know if we can win this war.

I'm honored to premiere this here. These boys have really outdone themselves on this one.
