Joakim - "Ad Me (Principles of Geometry Remix)"

joakim - "ad me (principles of geometry remix)" (stream-only)

Last year, France's prolific producer/remixer/vocalist Joakim put out an amazing record called Milky Ways on the also-wonderful Tigersushi Records. This year, Tigersushi will be releasing another volume of their More G.DM. compilations. Joakim's labelmates (and all-around great guys) Principles of Geometry offered up their remix services and came up with this great reworking of Joakim's "Ad Me." The compilation will be available soon, so unfortunately I can't give this track away for free, but if you like it, be on the lookout. Follow Tigersushi on Twitter to get updates on this and other upcoming releases.

Principles of Geometry - "Titan"

principles of geometry - "titan" (download)

Another amazing release from French label Tigersushi. Synth enthusiasts Guillaume Grosso and Jeremy Duval enlisted help from Sebastian Tellier, Vast Aire and Hangar 18 for this one. Much more upbeat than their wonderful self-titled debut from 2005. These guys keep getting better and better, constantly working on music and honing their chops doing remixes for the likes of Poni Hoax and Joakim. An early, Vast Aire-less version of their song "Napoleon" appears on the Sneakmove Minicomp 3 7" I curated. At the rate these guys are going, I'm sure the next album is going to be phenomenal.

Krikor & The Dead Hillbillies - "God Will Break It All"

krikor & the dead hillbillies - "god will break it all" (download)

First off, this music is absolutely NOTHING like the album artwork and band name make it seem. I'd look at this album cover and probably assume this was some sort of alt-country/indie-folk rock record, not some upbeat, poppy, dance-able poppy stuff. This completely caught me off guard, but I guess I should have expected this from a label like Tigersushi, who always seems to come with the goodies. Tigersushi has put out records by Principles of Geometry and Poni Hoax, and pretty much everything that comes out of this label is great. I wanted to post 2 songs from this record, but in fairness to the band, I chose one, and this is the one that has been bouncing around in my head like crazy. Also check out "Serpico's Wallet" over at their MySpace page.

Poni Hoax are an electronic music outfit from Paris, France.

From their self-titled 2006's debut on Tigersushi. Poni Hoax is currently working on a new record with French producer Joakim. Sure to be nothing short of amazing.
